Bec Winnel is one of my favorite artists. Known for her whimsical portraits, she is a self taught artist from Australia. Her paintings are generally comprised from mixed mediums, ranging anywhere from pastels and colored pencils to paints and washes. She has an eloquent way of working with minimalism and exact detail. She so beautifully controls implied line and structure, emphasizes a dream-like attitude through her work. Her paintings are generally focused on Nastalgia and the delicacy of females. They involve aspects of nature and mystery. She uses the absence of color to her advantage and allows less to be more. She has won many awards since 2008 in design and illustration. Her work seems to build it's own reality, based on fantasy and aspects of theatre.
