Hsiao-Ron Cheng is another favorite artist of mine. She is a freelance illustrator from Taiwan. She paints surrealists works defining the seperation between children and nature. Her paintings generally involve some allusion to fantasy or make-believe. She uses irrational senses of scale to disrupt any chance of true realism. Her paintings are playful in use of pastels and childlike settings, but yet intriguinging. Some imply a strange sort of violence or horror; many even personify plants. She was nominated for the Young Illustrator Award in 2012 and has toured all over Europe and the U.S.
